Crowdfunding for the making of the documentary "Durruti: Son of the people"

"Durruti: Son of the People" is a documentary-research project that seeks to reconstruct the anarchist Buenaventura Durruti's life

Through different audiovisual resources such as recreations, animations, interviews with relatives of Durruti, testimonies of historians, we will enter into a historical plot that goes from the 1917 strike to the social revolution in 1936, through the CNT rise, the years of the "killer patronal", the Primo de Rivera dictatorship and the Second Republic.

The idea is to investigate who this historical character was. Within the documentary will be shown the historical research works and will appear the many locations where Durruti's life went. We will also use the narrative resource of different voices to narrate the anecdotes and appreciations left by historical characters that coexisted with Durruti. For all this we are doing a work of historical documentation. The interviews with historians and researchers who have worked on the subject have a great weight within the documentary. To reconstruc the story we have personal photographs given by the CNT archives as well as material from the National Film Archive. To reconstruct some scenes we will use drawings made by the cartoonist Agustín Comotto and will use reconstructions of some other scenaries.

If we overcome the barrier of 12,000 euros we could do some reconstructions

The idea is that the documentary takes a cinematographic look.

SOME PEOPLE TO INTERVIEW

Some of the people whose participation is confirmed in the documentary are those following:

Juan Mariné, the man who filmed Durruti's funeral: https://www.publico.es/culturas/cine-juan-marine-hombre-filmo-entierro-durruti.html

Marta Durruti:  Buenaventura Durruti family memberf: http://elespiadigital.com/index.php/tribuna-libre/17955-entrevista-a-marta-durruti-que-venga-pepe-y-lo-arregle

Dolors Marín: Doctor in Contemporary History from the Barcelona  University with a thesis on the formation of the libertarian culture in Catalonia and the organization of anarchist affinity groups.

About the rewards

All contributions are rewarded with a link to visualize the documentary. For the realization of the documentary we have illustrations by Agustín Comotto whose plates are part of the rewards as well as the poster of the documentary that will be done by hand at the Can Batlló Colective Printing Company (fcbk).

http://www.agustincomotto.com

We have also design some cloth bags with the phrase "we bring a new world in our hearts" that will be delivered with contributions of over 30 euros.

About us

Pewmafilm and ungovernable productions try to use the audiovisual resources to bring light to those stories and points of view that have no place in the mass media. We are part of ACATS (Associació Col·lectiva Audiovisual per a la Transformació Social)

Along these years we have made documentaries about the Mapuche people struggle (The Return of the Weichafe), the anarchist movement in Catalonia (Ingobernables a tour by the anarchist Catalonia), the social struggles in Catalonia (Poble Rebel), about the application of anti-terrorist law to social movements (The government of fear) or the last work funded by verkami "In the Breach, anarchists against Franco".

The objective is to use audiovisual creation to fight neoliberal hegemonic thinking and to carry out a work of social conscience that favors a social transformation towards a more just, free and equal society. We have been making documentaries and videos about social struggles for years, just as we have made hundreds of presentations with thousands of people who during this time have seen our work.

Patriotism - Poem Radical Glasgow's Anarchist Critic

Source- Poetry 1 | Radical Glasgow's Anarchist Critic

Patriotism

No, I shall not die for the fluttering flag,
if truth be known, ’tis nothing but a multi-coloured rag
held aloft by some foolish hand
inciting worker and peasant to kill
on some green and wooded hill,
peasant and worker from some other land.
Nor shall I shed blood for the fluttering rag
that brings out fools to stand and brag
of brutal deeds painted grand,
deeds where rustic and craftsman lie so still
killed by my brothers' misguided hand.
No allegiance have I for the Nation
this man made autocratic creation
that divides my brothers in a world so small,
binds us to a country's cause, right or wrong,
bids us follow its drum, sing its song,
then sheds our blood in some border brawl.
No, I'll be no slave to flag or nation,
have no ear for power oration,
though its iron heel is on my breast,
my back feels its leather thong,

at patriotism's barracoon, I'll be no guest.

Prayer to Our Lady of Anarchy

Source - What is Pagan Anarchism? – GODS & RADICALS 23.7.2016

Oh black-robed lady with the bleeding eyes,

Red-belted, standing on an open book,

With hands outstretched but empty. Hear our cries!

In dread and sorrow for the things you’ve seen

You weep for us. And yet your heart is fire.

Oh red and black Madonna, let desire

Come blazing through us till we cannot sleep.

Destroy our apathy

And help us keep

Our covenant with rage,

Our own bright fire.

And let our eyes bleed with the same desire

Until the day arrives when we shall see

Fulfillment of the prophecy

That someday soon, a flood

Shall cleanse these streets and wash your cheeks of blood.

In Spain before the Civil War, anarchism was known as “the Idea,” and anarchist activists had a reputation for almost monastic austerity and self-discipline. Despite these semi-religious overtones, the far majority of them were atheists and many were militantly hostile to organized religion. Today’s anarchist movement still includes many atheists, but also a large minority of religious people – including pagans. Pagan anarchism is a reality, a fact which would probably surprise many of the past adherents of “the Idea.” So what exactly is pagan anarchism?

Nessun nocchiero ardito,
sfida dei venti l’ira?
Pur sulla nave muda,
l’etere ognun sospira!
(...)
Falci del messidoro,
spighe ondeggianti al vento!
Voi siate i nostri labari,
nell’epico cimento!

Belgrado Pedrini.

[RV]

El Galeón

Somos tripulación anémica
de una galera infame
a la que ronda la muerte
llevada por la lenta hambre.

Nunca horizontes claros
abren nuestra aurora
y en la escuálida cubierta
grita el centinela cada hora.

Nuestro día discurre
entre fétidas cadenas
somo demacrados esclavos
de cadenas de hierro estrechas.

Surge sobre el mar la luna.
rotan las estrellas en el cielo
pero sobre nuestras cabezas
siempre el mismo fúnebre velo.

Multitud de esclavos coléricos
inclinados gimen a los remos.
Rompamos estas cadenas
o de remar moriremos!

¿Qué gimen los esclavos
de esta fila de remos?
Mejor morir en las ondas
del resplandeciente océano.

Rememos hasta que la nave
se quiebra ante la rompiente
en alto los rojinegros
entre vientos hirientes!

Esa piedosa colcha
de ola espumosa y riza
que surja un día en los mártires
el sol de la anarquía.

Arriba esclavos, a las armas, a las armas!
la ola gorjea y sube
truenos, rayos y ráfagas
el galeón moribundo [se hunde].

Arriba esclavos, a las armas, a las armas!
Castiguemos con brazo fuerte!
alcanzaremos, alcanzaremos justicia !
O la libertad o la muerte!

alcanzaremos, alcanzaremos justicia !
O la libertad o la muerte!
Il Galeone

Siamo la ciurma anemica
d’una galera infame
su cui ratta la morte
miete per lenta fame.

Mai orizzonti limpidi
schiude la nostra aurora
e sulla tolda squallida
urla la scolta ognora.

I nostri dì si involano
fra fetide carene
siam magri smunti schiavi
stretti in ferro catene.

Sorge sul mar la luna
ruotan le stelle in cielo
ma sulle nostre luci
steso è un funereo velo.

Torme di schiavi adusti
chini a gemer sul remo
spezziam queste catene
o chini a remar morremo!

Cos’è gementi schiavi
questo remar remare?
Meglio morir tra i flutti
sul biancheggiar del mare.

Remiam finché la nave
si schianti sui frangenti
alte le rossonere
fra il sibilar dei venti!

E sia pietosa coltrice
l’onda spumosa e ria
ma sorga un dì sui martiri
il sol dell’anarchia.

Su schiavi all’armi all’armi!
L’onda gorgoglia e sale
tuoni baleni e fulmini
sul galeon fatale.

Su schiavi all’armi all’armi!
Pugniam col braccio forte!
Giuriam giuriam giustizia!
O libertà o morte!

Giuriam giuriam giustizia!
O libertà o morte!

Work Speaking Tour on the Iberian Peninsula - Crimethinc November Tour

Source- Work Speaking Tour on the Iberian Peninsula | CrimethInc. Far East Blog
Spanis version

We published Work at the beginning of 2011, at the onset of the social movements precipitated by the economic crisis of 2008. The idea was to update the critique of capitalism for the 21st century, starting from lived experience rather than dusty theory. Over the following years, the authors traveled throughout the Americas and Europe, comparing notes with other participants in the demonstrations, riots, and revolutions that ensued.

The book has since appeared in German, Russian, Serbo-Croat, Korean, and most recently, Lithuanian. Congratulations to our Baltic comrades!

Now, to mark the publication of the Spanish edition of Work, our comrades there have organized a speaking tour visiting nine cities around the Iberian peninsula. What is really new about capitalism today, and how should this inform the ways we organize to stand up for ourselves? What can we learn from the limits that previous movements have reached? Could we really do away with work, profit, and property, or at least make it possible to imagine a world without them? Join us for a lively discussion.
