Retreat is the only honourable military maneuver”, Boris Vian
#TridentRupture: Antimilitarists obstruct two tanks headed to the NATO war exercise “Trident Juncture” in Spain
At present a group of Antimilitaristes-moc activists are impeding and disrupting the organization of the departure of a military convoy from the port of Sagunto, due to be deployed in war maneuvers in the next few days by army units of more than 30 countries as part of NATO exercise “Trident Juncture 2015”
Today at 17:00 a group of antimilitarist activists, dressed in white overalls and pink reflective vests assembled at the dockside, where a cargo vessel with vehicles and arms was being unloaded, in preparation for live fire stage of the multinational NATO military maneuver “Trident Juncture”, due to begin in the next few days. While two activists stood in the way making stop two tanks, two more activists rapidly chained themselves with lock-on tubes to the vehicles and cut off the road leading from the port area. Another two activists unveiled banners with the words “War Stops Here” and “Sorry for the inconvenience: obstructing war preparations”. The destination of the tanks is intended to head towards the main maneuver field of San Gregorio (Zaragoza).
At the moment the activists remain chained to the tanks preventing their departure and they will maintain the blockade as long as possible, until removal and arrest by the police or the Guardia Civil.
The main motto of this action of civil disobedience is “War Starts Here, and Here we Stop It”. With this action, the anti war group denounces that “military aggressions as a scandal to public opinion are the fruit of political decisions taken thanks to our conscious or unconscious consent, and these maneuvers provide a perfect example of war preparations”. According to Antimilitaristes-moc, “the Trident Juncture exercise supposes the taking over and use of ports, airports, rail lines, and natural areas in Sagunto, Valencia, Zaragoza, Albacete and various areas in Andalucía in order to perform war training to assure the offensive and interventionalist capacity of the NATO Very High Readiness Joint Task Force, and prove its destructive power”.
According to Antimilitaristes-moc, another example of politics which prioritise war preparations is “the immense volume of military spending (around 18,000 million euros in Spain annually and over 1,000 bilion globally) from our taxes, or the arms trade in and with conflict zones: the Spanish state is among the 7 mayor world arms exporters, the permanent members of the UN Security Council making up the main arms exporters.”
They conclude “The consequences of these military policies of NATO, of Russia and its allies, are much more visible to public opinion: The systematic violation of human rights, the destruction and persecution of the civil population, extreme violence against women, the expoliation of resources, and the mass exodus of millions of people from countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, etc.
We wanted to stop the flow of material and personnel to these war games and at the same time make visible the contrast between the terrible situation of war refugees who seek protection and meet walls, razor wired fences and death, and the absolute freedom of movement for those who execute wars and their arms, especially during theses military exercises”. For the antimilitarist collective, “actions like those of today contribute to making a culture of peace based on cooperation, justice and non-violence, and not one of deterrence and force. The paradigm of defense and military-based security has to be changed, it leads over and over again to war and violence. “Human security, according to the UN definition, puts at its axis the defense of the rights of people and nature. In this new paradigm, “armies and military structures are a threat to these rights and must be broken up and abolished”.
On the other hand, Antimilitaristes-moc, wish to express through today’s action their rejection of anti-liberty laws which criminalize social protest, laws passed recently by the Spanish government, such as the reform of the Penal Code and the Citizen Security Law (gaging law). Antimilitaristes-moc have declared that they will carry on using civil disobedience tactics, “because we consider them a legitimate and radically democratic tool for political participation and social change.
For Antimilitaristes-moc, this is a “non-violent direct action”, like similar actions carried out over the last 10 years, like the “citizen inspections” at the NATO Response Force base in Betera (Valencia). According toAntimilitaristes-moc, “It’s direct, because we use our bodies as tools, without mediation or representations. And it’s non-violent, because we believe in the higher legitimacy and efficiency of nonviolence to bring about social change. Coherently, we act against violent institutions without presenting a threat to life or the physical integrality of other people”.

NOVEMBER 4: HUMAN CHAIN AGAINST WAR

We have planned in Zaragoza a series of activities, workshops, lectures and street actions, to be held from October 24 to November 6 (date of the end of maneuvers on the peninsula).

The central movilization in those days will be, therefore, November 4, with a human chain linking the former Military Captaincy of Zaragoza building and the Bank of Spain, a representative institution of the political-financial system that supports the armed organization that call itself NATO. In the route we want to make our protest visible to military of foreign armies that have booked accommodation at nearby hotels for their "Distinguished Visitors Day".

3 TO 6 NOVEMBER: "LIGHTS, PEOPLE, ACTION: AGAINST WAR '

During the week of November 3 to 6, at nightfall, we will make several "symbolic actions" (with music, theater or poetry against War) in the Zaragoza Paseo de la Independence street and them some meetings at "La Pantera Rossa" [social center] about "The Maneuvers of the Crisis", " The Dark Side of alliances for war" and "European and the Antimilitaristic Network against capitalistic war preparation: A Brief History of nonviolent direct action, Barbate 2015 ". Corp Bioterrorism against Mayan Jungle in Guatemala. REPSA hitmen kill enviromental defender Rigoberto Lima

Many times  from cities we wonder about the ravages of capitalism and how it affects our everyday lives without having a clear idea. Here we have a typical conflict in which all the ingredients are given. Under the banner of development, employment and social work, including environmentalism, the interests of a conglomerate premium against an entire population. The consequences are immediate. Our brother Rigoberto, a protest leader, has had to die to make us realize the magnitude of the problem. He was shot outside the courthouse the day of his victory by two gunmen on a motorcycle.

Mayan jungles are threatened and harassed by monoculture and pastures. In Guatemala it arises one of the most flagrant cases of corporative bioterrorism, crimes aganisnt nature, of recent times. Perhaps not by the importance itself of pollution but by the brazenness with which firms operate. Whith problems since the inauguration of the refining plant the REPSA or River Passion case jumped to highlights a few years ago in Guatemala, for the disastrous and immediate effects over the environment, death of thousands fish, hundreds of kilometers of river, tributaries and aquifers pollution, affecting the area retail economy in what has been called as ecocide act by the administration, the same that covers the case with impunity and permissiveness.

Refined palm oil is an industry that unfortunately is expanding. It has its own ecological limits due to extension, deforestation, chemical dependents of sickly monocultures and subsequent contamination of aquifers and affluents. It is alleged that the death of fish was produced by the use of the pesticide Malathion, wich is possible as there is not large seaweed masses. The option for the company could be to change the pesticide, making the production more expensive. But we fear that this is only a part of the story and is also pinpoint the plant residual untreated wastes. It seems that either want to spend money on waste treatment facilities because will rise the prize of the project and surely would make it unaffordable.

The company began operations 15 years ago without environmental impact assestmets, as state by the courts. Although the conflict jump both courts and  global media that not frightened the firm owners, determined to continue with the business at any cost. The company moved all possible ways and managed to make sign a document, headed by the mayor Rodrigo Pop and representatives of seven districts, which stated that "the company has no responsibility in the death of fish".

The company suffered a temporary cessation order of six months, responded by killing the people spokesman in the case, the teacher, and activist councilor Rigoberto Lima Choc, blocking roads, abducting at least three other speakers and threatening to kill the rest.

Typical: the government responds with evasives and proposals to militarize the area, to continue with the extractive and predatory activities of REPSA. We have found little or nothing about the company or conglomerate. Just a press spokesman. Nor web, or facebook, or references. Some indications point relation with Aceites Olmeca company. Being so powerful we should know at least the board. What do they hide? Who are they protecting?

Along with the pollution reaches the information noise. It is unclear whether the sanction was due to operate without impact assestments or by probed pollution, as the Falsimedia keep talking about "alleged contamination" when contamination is evident and is the only source.

We emphasize in the use of workers as REPESA shock troops, alleged perpetrators of the facts, arresting, kidnapping and death threats against local fighters and staging protests against judicial decisions. This is not new in capitalism. The degree of despair, lack of perspective and alienating is so high that it is not difficult to get set against forces that should work together. In the twenty-first century no scabs are needed.

It is curious that the company is tricky  called palma "Reforester"  instead of oil producter or refiner. It is covered with a green halo at BP oil company style, responsible for the Gulf of Mexico spill in 2011, one of the largest ecological disasters in history, for which has not been held accountable to anyone. They engaged in robbing the forest and planting palms, killing all traces of biodiversity. The same effect as if it had a desert.

It si not clear what ares the next steps to follow, but not take action on the matter sentence the entire area to suffer the consequences of pollution and deforestation in brief. If the community were to lose the litigation and environmental degradation continue at the Passion River [río de la Pasión], about 100-200,000 people would lose their livelihoods, must leave the contaminated area and flee to the cities to join his corresponding misery belt, the ghetto. To capitalism it is more important  a master's factory tham a 650,000 people population and a hole ecosystem.

From the tarcoteca condelencias with relatives of Rigoberto, a hero. We encourage everyone to participate in the protection of natural spaces. All support and solidarity with the Mayan and Guatemalan community in their struggle against capitalist predation. They are giants with feet of clay, not as strong or as powerful as they said. Go for them! tctca

Crowdfunding campaign to create a Libertarian Social Center in Cuba. TLAL

Where to Address our donations: Centro Social Libertario en Cuba - GoFundMe

TLAL statement:
Seen at ANA Agencia de Noticias Anarquistas, tarcoteca spanish version

The borders are opening after many years, and changes in Cuba predict new possibilities and dangers for the Cuban society. It is essential, therefore, reinforce the work of those that from Cuba defend a critical, anti-capitalist and antiautoritarial system-world , the same machine expressed every day more clearly in the national life.

After more than a decade of social and political activism in the Critical Cuban Observatory and five years as part of the Alfredo Lopez Libertarian Workshop  (Tlal), we have identified as the main difficulty for our performance and expanding for our social impact, the lack of a permanent base, which allows to build community and shape our identity stronger and lasting way.

Who we are?

The TLAL is a specifically anarchist collective, which has hold a systematic activity in recent years, radicalizing their proposals and keeping a strong anchorage in Cuban society and their communities. We have succeeded in a short time to ser the annual Libertarian Spring Meeting in Havana, where we seek to merge thought and anarchist or libertarian action on the island. In addition, we issued a modest printed newspaper, Tierra Nueva!, with some troubles we tried to bring our critical vision to ordinary people, that which is majority and do not have access to Internet in Cuba, as well as promoting libertarian, anarcho-syndicalist, and naturist ideals, present in the country's history before the insurrectional victory in 1959, and whose impact beats hidden in the interstices of the now a day Cuba.

Moreover, we have embarked in major organizational efforts, along with other comrades in the region. Has been the foundation of  the Central American and Caribbean Anarchist Federation  network in March 2015 containing a large expansion and development potential.

Maintain this pace of projects and actions requires a physical space to come together, rehearse in practice show solidarity, cooperatives, horizontality, self-organization and autonomy.

What do we look for?

Given the imposibility to rent any space in Cuba, the option we propose is to buy a property, house or apartment, to found our Libertarian Social Center and Library.

Besides being the permanent headquarters of the Alfredo Lopez Libertarian Workshop TLAL for meetings and other activities, the local will host a Libertarian Library. This will be made with materials accumulated for years product of national, international, gifts or personal purchases. Will include all kinds both periodical or unique of publications, compact discs (CD-ROM) and DVDs, films, audio, etc. physical or digital publications. Priority will be given to those related directly or indirectly with anarchism, but also attend other related to social struggles throughout history, from any political perspective or area of topics creation.

In other hands will take place tipical Social Centers activities: conferences, events, meetings, group meals, presentations of texts, parties, videodebates, meetings with foreign and domestic visitors from other provinces, concerts, readings, exhibitions, production, among others.

How much do we need?

For the purchase of local need euros 12,000. However, on our recent visit to France and Spain, thanks to the solidarity of libertarian comrades, we collected more than 1,000 euros. That's why, for the present crowdfunding, we are soliciting contributions to reach € 11,000 (eleven thousand euros).

Why do we ask?

Because we do not receive any state, government institution, or NGO funding. Nor do we wish to receive, to ensure our complete independence and non-subordination to any external agenda. Sometimes we have received donations from groups and individuals related to our principles, selflessly and unconditionally. Neither our practices generate any profit, rather the opposite. It is also known that with the average Cuban salary ($ 20 monthly), it is impossible to cover the high cost of housing in Cuba, no honest worker without exploiting others can afford.

Who will receive the direct benefit of the work of Libertarian Social Center and Library?

First, all who are part of the Tlal, and work without pay in that space, including the people who live there directly, and they take care of the premises.

Tlal outside, it is the community who first receive the benefits, as we intend to establish links with this, and make our space available. We can not understand a project of this type, detached from their immediate circumstances and people around him.

Also linked to the Critical Observatory Cuban projects in which we stay engaged, have a safe space in this office, to further consolidate its work.

Moreover, Cuban and international students and researchers will mainly in the Library a unique and valuable source of information.

It goes without saying that both libertarians and anti-capitalist visitors arriving to the island, and others in need of solidarity, have no place in our Center.

What we will return to donors?

We have not a lot of material to give in return, but our gratitude and good vibes. Of course, donors will have a space in our facilities in Cuba and access to all the center's services.

Furthermore, if allowed, we will include their email on our mailing list so they will receive the Cuban libertarian newspaper New Earth!

For those who want to publish their names, we have a list of acknowledgments on our website with those who helped realize this endeavor. We will send to each donor a detailed report of the use given to the collected funds.

Your cooperation is decisive, if we want to promote the anti-capitalist and libertarian ideal in Cuba and the Caribbean.

Spain: International Call to Action against "Juncture Trident 2015" NATO maneuvers

Tarcoteca adds to the international appeal from the various Spanish state anti-military organizations to demonstrate against the military exercises organized by NATO armies in October and November 2015.

Apart from the facts highlight below there are two capital facts we do not want to pass unnoticed.

First is that the spanish Minister of War and Arms Dealing Pedro Morenés qualify the maneuvers as "high visibility" (es). And that's what they really are, a publicitary campaign. The maneuvers serve to many functions: control, propaganda, training and capital diversion, but the real school of death is at the war front. These maneuvers are an triumphal propagandistic walkover. Is in our hands subverting this propaganda and ruin the campaign, bringing protests on the media front page and sending a message of hope to mankind.

The second is that the propagandistic manouvers not only point to threat Russia or China. As if dealing with dogs using a childish conditioning based rewards and punishments to make things clear through the inclusion of the Fascist Democratic Ukraine. They offer prizes to their lackeys making them participate in the military system, profits and financing their armies and fascist parties. The fascist dogs wait anxious for their bone, their opportunity, in Poland, Hungary or the Baltic countries. Those who do not follow the script know what are facing: a coup. Is the case of Ukraine itself, Belarus, Moldova, Macedonia and Bulgaria.

We want to leave it clear to these corporations mercenary criminals  that despite all their weapons or even if they keep throwing bombs on us:
No Pasaran!

This is a text Based on: Call to Action against NATO maneuvers "Juncture Trident 2015"
We have add and we have delete. If you want the original: Original: Insumissia 01.09.2015 with its own eng version at wri-irg.org

From October to November 6, 2015 will take place the NATO High visibility maneuvers "Trident Juncture", mainly in Italy, Portugal and the Spanish State. With the participation of more than 36,000 killers from 30 different states, the maneuvers will be "the most important NATO exercise during 2015" and "the largest NATO deployment after the "Cold War" in the last decade, according to the own Spanish War Ministry.

War scenario: you are the target
Nato call him collateral
More than half of the criminal force, 20,000 mercenaries, will be deployed at eight points of the Spanish State: the  San Gregorio (Zaragoza) and Chinchilla (Albacete) National Training Centers, the 'Alvarez de Sotomayor'  Maneuvers and Shooting field (Almería), the Sierra del Retin Amphibious Training Camp (Cadiz), Albacete air bases, Son San Joan (Palma de Mallorca), Torrejon (Madrid) and Zaragoza. Also the US Marines from Moron de la Frontera participate in the "super maneuvers".

When will be the manouvers?
The maneuvers will have two distinct phases:
- one of command center and "simulated post war" situation (Command Post Exercise, CPX, from 3-16 October), which will take place within the headquarters of the participating states,
- and another real stage exercise (Live Exercise, LIVEX, from October 21 to November 6, 2015), in which different naval, air operations, ground offensive, amphibious landings, paratroopers launches actions in urban environment, interventions in CBRN environment [nuclear, radiological be tested, bacteriological and chemical] and performance of special operations forces, among others.

In the Spanish state most of the military will be deployed at San Gregorio HQ (Zaragoza), although Andalusia also has an important role during the maneuvers. At the moment, they have already built a large camp in Zaragoza Air Base for up to 1,600 cannon fooders.

With these maneuvers NATO will implement the lessons learned in the criminal war and occupation of Afghanistan. Will practice how to militarily intervene in northern Africa with larg force, focus in the invasive aspect. Will test how to get control of water, minerals, hydrocarbons and natural resources in a context of profound environmental degradation and energy shortages.

Focus on Africa
NATO is interested in Africa bacause of the potential conflict related to climate change and because it has a great wealth of natural resources: minerals (platinum, chromium, manganese and cobalt, among others) and hydrocarbons which represent a large proportion of the global reserves.

In the game of power on Africa Spanish state has an important role, such as maintaining the security of natural resources transport routes (from Red Sea and the Horn of Africa), in addition to its own military and economic interests. Therefore the vast majority of the Spanish State military missions takes place on the continent or Middle East. Spain is responsible for controlling the "southern border" of the European Union, to stem the migration of people fleeing poverty or war, ensuring that the effects of the policies of exploitation of the continent do not impact on European strength. The Spanish State is the spearhead of NATO in Africa [as seen in Libia war].

Message to Russia, China and glorification of fascism
But the NATO exercises are designed to send a message of strength and pressure to Russia through partial or indirect wars on its neighboring territories. In this respect the participation of Ukraine - is not formally a member of the alliance- is more than significant. Trident Juncture not only serves to show Russia the NATO's military ability (and willingness), is also used to train the cooperation with the Ukraine Fascist Armed Forces. However, the main message is not for Russia, much less for the Islamic State, Al Quaida and others, whose existence and armed actions are used as justification and war propaganda. It is more likely that the main message is for China, a country with strong economic and strategic interests in Africa. China is now investing in many African countries, building infrastructure to ensure natural resources supply - especially minerals. To stop China's expansion in Africa, the main competitor of the member states of the Atlantic Alliance, is one of the hidden reason of these "supermaneuvers". All this is part of the imperialist competition between the military powers and their dependence on the commercial interests of transnational corporations.

CALL TO ACTION

Trident Juncture maneuvers protect only a privileged minority, increase global military spending at the expense of vital investment in social and humanitarian needs, such as fighting the dramatic consequences of the capitalist crisis, remedy environmental degradation, promote fair trade, solidarity or economic cooperation for the overall development of the planet. Only in 2014 world military expenditure was 1.8 billion dollars, while in 2016 the State Spanish will waste 24,489.96 million € in preparation of war and social control. Nowday the 5 countries with the highest military spending in Western Europe are France, UK, Germany, Italy and the Kingdom of Spain.

Their "supermaneuver" increase insecurity in the world and particularly to us, positioning ourselves as main stage of war operations. We bring the war at "home", we become collaborators of the NATO crimes, and therefore the target of war foes, encourage terrorism, social division, racism, fear ...

Armies and these maneuvers all represent a bloody burden for the world progress. Are means of irrational destruction, of economic domination, of ideological and to "conquest of power" we need to free ourselves for the good of mankind and Earth.

Therefore, and due to its high relevance, we call for global solidarity and cooperation of societies in the struggle for real democracy, social and environmental justice and sustainable redistribution of wealth and resources the planet.

We call for civil disobedience and direct action against Trident Juncture 2015 NATO maneuvers.

Several groups are preparing protests and civil resistance during the development of "supermaneuvers". We ask for your support and cooperation. We also invite to decentralization and self-management the protest (Organize your own disobedient action and get coordinate with the others).

From the pacifist and anti-militarist movement in Andalusia there are several initiatives to organize civil disobedience actions in Barbate from 30 October to 3 November (against Sierra del Retin Amphibious Training Camp) with the support of Antimilitaristic Alternative MOC and the Antimilitaristic European Network.
In Zaragoza we are organizing protests from 3 to 6 November (San Gregorio Camp will be again protagonist of the militarist barbarism).

It is urgent to show our rejection of war and the new threat of NATO. People have the power and responsibility to stop the greed and violence, improve our fragile little world.

Solidarity Manifesto: For the victory of the turkish and kurdish popular resistance movements

We support the manifesto promoted by several Iberian libertarian organizations in support of the Kurdish autonomous regions. Our suspicion by organizing an army is as large as our desire to see an independent and libertarian region. Respect and encouragement to those who fight!
To the Victory!

Source- http://www.alasbarricadas.org/noticias/node/34849 and
tarcoteca spanish version
As it is already known, turkish Kurdistan (Bakur in kurdish language) has being living a low profile war for several weeks. It is a conflict between, on one side, the turkish state – ruled by the nationalist and the president Recep Erdogan islamist party AKP – and the kurdish people and turkish left on the other side.
The conflict began under the false pretext of fighting the Islamic State IS, that as it is known it's been years it operates from Turkey, with the complicity of the turkish state. Therefore, these operations against the jihadists have turned into an open war against all the leftist opposition, both turkish and kurdish.
The groups and collectives that sign this document condemn the repression against those towns, districts and communities that refuse to live under an indignant oppressive regime
We are inspired by a truly respect for the capacity of the kurdish and turkish popular movements to carry out a brave resistance, able not only of striking back the attacks of the turkish armed forces but also to set up a popular self-government, everywhere they can do. In this sense there are several towns, villages and districts that have announced the people's self-government as Varto, Silopi, Silvan, Cirze, Semdinli, Dogubayazit... and some other places that are ruled by a people that refuses to recognise the authority of AKP government, that wants to change the Constitution to hand full power to president Erdogan.
We note that those self-governments are not necessarily meant to remain in time, and are very conscious that their challege will be angrily answered by the turkish state. Those self-governments in some places are popular assemblies, in other BDP and HDP political parties, in other HPG, the kurdish liberation movement guerrillas or in other, as in the rebel neighbourhood in Istambul, Gazi, the same local left revolutionary movement who boosts the counterpower as far as it may be possible. All those examples, and many others, talks loud of what does it mean to be a strong and organised people in every level.
We believe that their exemple of struggle and dignity must be claimed on the same way by the european left as does with other better known historical events. The conflict has turned into a generalization of local counterpowers that rule their own territory, with the potentiality this implies.
A way to be solidary is spreading news about the massacres the turkish government is committing against the people as well as denouncing its alliance with the Islamic State.
We must protest about that as much as we can, and also support humanitarian efforts to that area, refuge of hundreds of thousand people who are running away from the Iraq and Syria wars and who are right now crossing to Greece, therefore creating an scandal in a blind Europe before the serious problems its own imperialist politics of the last years is bringing.
Finally, we shoud support the present situation of popular power that we wish it may spread to new areas, as well as we support the hunger strike of the kurdish political prisoners in the turkish prisons.

A night of migrants’ collective strength and severe police repression

A night of migrants’ collective strength and severe police repression. | Calais Migrant Solidarity

Saturday night was an extremely empowering but also disheartening night here in Calais. A group of 250 migrants organized together to go and try to make it inside the Eurotunnel, not to climb aboard a train but to walk the length of the tunnel to England. They walked for hours to get close to the entrance of the tunnel and managed to breach a layer of perimeter fencing only to come up against the recently reinforced fence that is electrified and topped with barbed and concertina wire. The group then went to the fence and started chanting in unison. They demanded the right to move wherever they choose, to live in dignity in Calais, and to be free of police violence. They also spoke the names of those who have recently died attempting the crossing in the Eurotunnel and laid the blame for those deaths at the hands of the police and politician’s whose policy they are enacting.

It was a very large and strong group, however on the other side of the fence were many Gendarmes and also active French military who were menacing their machine guns. The group’s chanting continued for around an hour until the point they started to make their move to try and push through the fence. People had gone down a hill and were lining a steep verge consisting of loose gravel. Those at the bottom, closest to the fence, started to try and make their way over it when suddenly the Gendarmes released a huge amount of ‘tear gas’ onto the crowd. Exactly what type of gas they used though is not clear. Having experienced it and after speaking with people afterward, it was very powerful; much more so than typical CS gas and had strong effects even at the top of the hill far from where it was sprayed. It also created a shortness of breath and a panicked feeling which suggests that it may have been CR gas. After the attack there were also people lying unconscious on the ground. Any use of gas here and particularly CR (if it was indeed that) was completely unnecessary and irresponsible. The panic that the gas created caused a stampede up the hill, but as the footing was so loose people were falling over one another trying to get away from the poison. It was difficult to breathe, see, or move in that area and many people got hurt trying to flee from the gas into a more open space. However, the group, after recovering from the attack, got together and held a meeting about what to do next. They decided to occupy the road leading to the freight terminal at the Eurotunnel, their aim, to stop traffic until they were heard.

The group walked for around one hour from the fence by the entrance to the tunnel to the turn off from the highway to the Eurotunnel terminal. They arrived at about 3am and occupied the road blocking trucks from entering the Eurotunnel terminal. They repeated their chants and demands. When the two vans of CRS that showed up tried to move them on the whole group sat down in the road and started chanting louder. The police were forced to stop trying to move them on and stand by, observing a peaceful protest by 150 migrants as they demanded their rights, dignity, and free movement. The road was occupied for around three hours. The group kept chanting and shouting, being led by one woman repeating that the borders be opened to them to stop the deaths here in Calais. The police appeared to be tolerating the peaceful protest, until around 6am when more companies of CRS arrived. The Commissariat of Calais came and asked the group to disperse. They were complying and starting to leave the motorway when the CRS became impatient and started pushing and shoving people off. The group went as fast as possible but they had to go over many guardrails which took time. The police then started to throw people over the fence and sprayed CS gas. After this clearing of the road, people were dispersing peacefully when all of the sudden a whistle was blown. The CRS then started to run after the two groups that had gone off in different directions. They beat anyone who came within reach while chasing them off. They sprayed CS gas against the people who were running away, one officer even reached his arm around somebody who was running away in order to spray him directly in the face. This was completely unnecessary and a sadistic attack on people participating in a peaceful protest.

What we can take from the night, despite the severe repression, was the strength the group had not only in trying to reach the Eurotunnel but also organizing to blockade the highway. Important to note though, was the difference in policing tactics given the level of media attention that each event had. At the tunnel there were many film crews and so the police for the most part did not attack except for their one gassing of the entire group. However, during the eviction which took place in the morning after all the news crews had gone to sleep they were typically brutal. In case anyone could forget the violence continues here daily but also the resistance.

CNT Statement: Solidarity with all those fighting against authoritarianism and autocracy in Turkey and Kurdistan

Source: En solidaridad con todos los que luchan contra el autoritarismo y la autocracia en Turquía y el Kurdistán- Confederación Nacional del Trabajo CNT

Indignation has take the streets of Turkey after the suicide bombing outrage from the fundamentalist murderers of Daesh (ISIS, Islamic State) in Suruç, and the following cynical, shameful and criminal attitude adopt by the Turkish government. Them mass demonstrations and violent clashes in almost all Turkish cities, from Istanbul to the Kurdish areas, expresing the anger of a population that rebels against the bonds of complicity, increasingly evident, that joined the Erdogan's government to the Al Baghdadi's Caliphate. The official response has been swift: arrest of hundreds of Kurdish and leftist militants, bombing PKK positions in Iraq and the YPG in northern Syria and, in general, a violence that finish with the peace process and the ceasefire in force these last years. No mistake, that some of the air raids and arrests have been directed against the Daesh and their supporters in no way means that these are the main objectives of the offensive. If anything, these are only excuses for the cynical attitude of the Turkish government, whose response to the slaughter of Suruç is to mob the victims support groups and arrest the relatives of the deceased. 85% of those arrested following the attack are members of pro-Kurdish or leftist groups, the remaining 15% are salfists. What it was once a suspect is now a shouted secret: the State and the Turkish Government collaborate with Daesh in their fight against the secular and revolutionary forces in Turkey and Kurdistan.

On the one hand, the 32 deaths and dozens of injuries among the brigadist who gathered in Suruç to address the reconstruction of Kobanî are a clear message to all laics and progressive sectors of the Muslim world: for religious fundamentalists, all who defend freedom against the imposition deserves death.

Ultimately, beyond any ethnic or religious excuse, the Caliphate is nothing but the cultural form of the totalitarian state, in its most barbaric and intolerant version. Call Nazi or fascist to the Daesh would be an anachronism. But as pointed out by several authors, the model of the caliphate is not as much a proper medieval regime as a twentieth century totalitarian dictatorship, dressed with a theocratic garb.

On the other hand, it is precisely on this matter why the Turkish Government finds more affinities with Daesh tham with the laics and liberal sectors of the country, especially considering its own authoritarian drift to dictatoship, more pronounced as lost more supports. So that is more concerned with the establishment of an opposition movement in Turkey and Kurdistan than with crimes against humanity committed by the Salafists. Genocide, child and teenagers from ethnic minorities sexual slavery, summary executions, with the cruelest methods, torture, persecution of homosexuals, repression of women. In general all kind of atrocities that comes with unbridled state power and schizophrenic-theocratic doesn't seem to concern the Turkish State as much as the establishment of free zones in northern Syria and its relationship with the rebellious left-wing opposition in Turkey itself.

The situation in the Middle East can not be explained as a clash between Arab and Western, Christian and Muslim, or between ethnic Kurds and Turks, although these aspects are also present. Not surprisingly, the suicide of Suruç was as Kurdish as any YPG militiaman that send Daesh minions to rot in hell every day. And finally, all they are Sunni Muslims, as the units of the Free Syrian Army, fighting in Rojava against both Daesh and Al-Assad's sirian dictatorship, even though they had less importance to the cosporate media. What is now disputing in Turkey and Rojava it is rather a civil war between supporters of a theocratic dictatorship, a totalitarian state model adapted to the cultural and historical characteristics of the area, and the enemies of religious imposition. It is a repeated pattern in many Muslim societies, but in no case the confrontation is so bitter and violent as here. If we add the revolutionary and anti-state content within the democratic confederalism defended by YPG militias in northern Syria, we understand why the Turkish government is more scare with such own internal opposition and the establishment of liberated zones across its border tham with the suicidal and beheaders caliphate fanatics army. An armed people that conquers its freedom is the worst nightmare of any state.

Beyond any differences that may have and without falling into idealizations, CNT reaffirms its commitment to freedom and against fanaticism and authoritarianism and sends a fraternal and libertarian hug to those who face every day the bombs and bullets of terrorist states to defend imposition-free areas, which are also ours. The blood of the martyrs of Suruç, of protesters killed by Turkish police and militiawoman and menthat face fundamentalism every day is the same that beat in our hearts with libertarian longing. Their sacrifice also builds our freedom and we are eternally grateful to them. His victories are ours. A strong embrace of solidarity, fellows.

The following is the statement of DAF (Revolutionary Anarchist Action, Turkish libertarian group that supports the fight in northern Syria) on the slaughter of Suruç. We endorse his words and indignation.

PRESS PARTNERS OF DAF (Revolutionary anarchist action - TURKEY)

July 21, 2015.

OUR ANGER our sadness, Kobanî will be rebuilt!

Yesterday, about 300 people from different cities, came together under the call of the of Socialist Youth Asoci Federation to rebuild Kobanî, a city that tried to be sacked by the Islamic State. Today, arriving in Suruç (Pîrsus in Kurdish), just before departing for Kobanî, these young people made a press statement in front of the Amara Suruç (Pîrsus) Cultural Center. At the end of the press release, a bomb exploded amid the crowd, silencing many hearts had been beating in the hope of reconstruction.

According to information gathered until today, 31 people died and hundreds were injured in the blast. After the explosion today, from the Suruç (Pîrsus) hospitals we hear the names of the fallen. Those who came from different cities, those with high hopes in their hearts, are now fallen under the objective of the murderers.

People have taken to the streets in order to account for the death of the fallen, those waiting outside hospitals are threatened by TOMA (water turret vehicles) and the police who came to the Amara Cultural Center, before ambulances. In Mersin, in Siirt, in İstanbul ... people coming out to the streets is threatened with being massacred by the murderer State, through the of murderers collaborators.

Those who have killed many lives, starting the first day of Kobanî Resistance, are now trying to demoralize us by killing our brothers.

We are trying to rebuild a new life against ISIS (Islamic State), against the state collaborating with ISIS, against the war policy of the state that never ends. No matter what the cost, even with our pain and our anger, we will rebuilt Kobanî and recreate life in this sacked geography.

(Today Alper Sapan, of the Anarchist Initiative Eskişehir, was killed in the attack. And a friend called Evrim Deniz Erol was severely wounded)

We are a group of peasants, landless and prospective peasants, as well as people who are taking back control over food production.
We understand “peasants” as people who produce food on a small scale, for themselves or for the community, possibly selling a part of it. This also includes agricultural workers.
We support and encourage people to stay on the land and go back to the countryside. We promote food sovereignty (as defined in the Nyéléni declaration) and peasant agriculture, particularly among young people and urban dwellers, as well as alternative ways of life. In Europe, the concept ‘food sovereignty’ is not very common and could be clarified with ideas such as ‘food autonomy’ and control over food systems by inclusive communities, not only nations or states. We are determined to create alternatives to capitalism through cooperative, collective, autonomous, real-needs-oriented, small-scale production and initiatives. We are putting theory into practice and linking local practical action with global political struggles.
In order to achieve this, we participate in local actions through activist groups and cooperate with existing initiatives. This is why we choose not to be a homogeneous group, but to open up to the diversity of actors fighting the capitalist food production model. We address the issues of access to land, collective farming, seed rights and seed exchange. We strengthen the impact of our work through cooperation with activists who focus on different tasks but who share the same vision.
Nevertheless, our openness has some limits. We are determined to take back control over our lives and refuse any form of authoritarianism and hierarchy. We respect nature and living beings, but will neither accept nor tolerate any form of discrimination, be it based on race, religion, gender, nationality, sexual orientation or social status. We refuse and will actively oppose every form of exploitation of other people. With the same force and energy, we act with kindness and conviviality, making solidarity a concrete practice of our daily life.
We support the struggles and visions of la Via Campesina, and work to strengthen them. We wish to share the knowledge and the experience from years of struggle and peasant life and enrich it with the perspectives and strength of those of us who are not peasants, or not yet peasants. We all suffer the consequences of the same policies, and are all part of the same fight.
